Weekend Recommendations - 25th / 27th Sept

Hey Folks,

With our life consumed with domestic issues, our timings on our regular posts have slipped somewhat, but we had to get this one out as the coming weekend looks like being a massive one in gAylist/land London. So, why are we anxious to get this news out? Well, there are two clubs running that deserve a huge mention, so here goes....

First up is the massive Spanish brand club that took London by storm back in 2006 to amazing aocolade and through a series of transitions has kept the faitfull more than a little interested with amazing parties, some of the best shows & dancers around, superb P.A.'s and prolific productionn to compliment a truly star studded & talented D.J. line up with amazing depth right across the whole house musoc genre. Whjo is it, well Matinee ofcourse and Evolved Events (the team behind the London arm of this supersized espaniol experience) brings you a classy celeration of three whole years in clubland London, with the promise of the best show you have seen yet!! (the inside information we have received from Fierce Intl, who will be the torre de force behind the shows, is that it will be FIERCE!). Add to that, an amazing P.A. performace playing out what looks like becoming THE hot hit of the dancefloor in 2009 (all will be revealed in our "Stop Press" post) to compliment a fantastic D.J. line up including Spanish Matinee resident Jordi Lights on the main floor, sandwiched by Pier Morrocco & Paul Heron, with Fat Tony commanding the middle room as he knows best, with fledgling yet talented stars Alessandro & Saki keeping up the pace & the bountiful return of Italian Stallion superstar Pagano who we know will rock room three. So, Cable looks like being yet another smash, with doors opening at 11 p.m. and the club running through until 8 a.m. So, to make sure you don't miss out, grab your advance £15 tickets now, either online at http://evolvedevents.co.uk (where you can get full details of the party) or go to your favourite Soho outlets to pick one, two three or more in person, but there will be more on the door if you dare risk it.

Next up is a scene inststution and one that celebrates six years facinating, thrilling & shocking a whole collection of leather clad, rubber garbed & downright dirty/horny hedonists who love to dance, cruise, booze & indulge in probably one of the friendliest, relaxed & yet exhilirating club experiences. You may have guessed from the attire influences that we are talking Hard On! here, which evolved from its former mother, Fist (well Madame Suzie Kruger is the person behind it all, so no Daddy here!) and has cemented a rebellious reputation for putting on some great parties attracting some seriously sexy studs & admirers. And this 6th Birthday celebration will be no exception, with particular pervy performamces from some of the hottest porn stars, including Matt VonFistenburg, with his discovery from Italy, the very hunky, hung and horny Davide (this will be a show not to be missed!), as well as loads of giveaway's including exclusive Dark Alley Media DVD's made especially for the birthday, courtesy of Expectations, custom made Hard On cum towels (ooh my word!!) so you can take more away with you then just a memory, and dildos from Crackerstuffers (we are in shock already), not to mention special drinks offers. The D.J's on duty for the evening are Hard On's superb residents, with HiFi Sean and Brent Nicholls in the (main) Red room spinning sphincter clenching and nipple tweaking electro, tribal, tech and progressive house, with Hugo'sland, Halo-is and Dmac dropping ball breaking and fist pumping hard trance, uplifting techno and bouncy progressive house in the Cruisey blue room.(phew!!). And if that wasn't enough, the ever changing and evolving playroom will tantilise your tastebuds for "tickle your fancy" action. So, miss this one and you really are going to miss out!, so don't, as the event runs from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. It is a members only club, at Hidden in Vauxhall, so go to http://hardonclub.co.uk to get more details, with entry on the night at £15 for members & £20 for guests.

And for those that don't want to stop partying after these two mega birthdays, there will be, ofcourse, Beyond at Area, which opens its doors early at 3 a.m. running through till 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon, which is always a popular choice, although newbie on the scene, Therapy, will definately tempt the Matinee faithfull into the SE1 club next door to Cable (convenience or what!?!?) running from 6 a.m. till late (watch our special post for more details on these two).

But if our choices don't grab you, there is plenty of other activity across the weekend, including an "oversized" Onyx this Friday and Gutterslut on Saturday, as well as the usual shinnanagins at Barcode, Lo-Profile & Rupert Street, so check the popular press for details. Also, don't forget to check out http://seenqueen.com for all the best that is on offer in gAylist London.

As for us, well our choice is simple, Industri tonight (Thurs), The Box tomorrow (Fri) with the Matinee boys ramping up interest with a special pre-party & then we will indulge in our fetish side at Hard On! on Saturday. So if you see us out, come say hi and as we always say.......Go There! Be There!

Weekend Recommendations - 18th - 20th Sept

Hey Folks,

Well, with an expectant hectic last weekend falling a little flat, what is in store in gAylist/land London this coming one. Well, possibly, we are drawing breath for the up-coming plethora of birthday celebrations (see our "hot dates" post), but there are still events to entice you out to a club/bar near you. Our "slimline" choice goes like this.

First up, on Friday night (18th Sept), the Profile team are pulling out all the stops, as not only are they offering special offers on cocktails & other drinks, they have lined up some of the scene's biggest D.J. names to entertain you from early evening to early morning. In the diner style & sumptuous surroundings of Profille's ground floor bar, Brent Nicholls will be spinning some equally seductive sounds, from 8 p.m. through till 11 p.m., to truly warm up your night for the action down below. Then, it's in the club, Lo-Profile, where the partying will continue, the action really hotting up, with favourites Mikey D & the Steve Pitron on the decks, spinning out some superb sounds to a descerning & quality good looking & sexy crowd. All three D.J's are great exponents in their game, having rubbed shoulders in clubs like Crash & Beyond and continue to thrill across London's dancefloors, so a real treat in store. Doors open at Lo-Profile from 10 p.m. and the club runs through until 4 a.m. with entrance at £8, but don't forget you can get free entry if you are in Profile bar before 10 p.m. The Profile duo are therefore deifnately worth a Friday frolic.

Our other pick of the weekend goes to new kid on the block, "Sunday Service", this Sunday 20th Sept (suprise, surprise!) a metrosexual gathering over in on the western edge of "Hoxton" land in Clerkenwell, evoking age old Sunday activity in this once very popular clubbing destination spot in London. Clerkenwell House is the venue, a warm & relaxing place with plenty of hang out spots, chill out areas and spaces to kick back to the superb tech house inspired funky beats that "Sunday Service" will become renowned for. And who better to get this underground clubbing experience off to a great start, but D.J. Hi-Fi Sean Dickson, of Beyond, Juicy, Hard On! & Barcode fame, who will definately make sure you will get lost in the groove, Sean being joined by D.J.'s Van Mook & Baa Baa . In true Sunday style, things get going at 5 p.m., with the club running through till midnight, with entry at just £7 and drinks deals all night, with the added bonus of a free Hi-Fi Sean CD to the first 100 through the door.. The venue is on Hatton Wall (just off the top end of Clerkenwell Road), so for full location details check out http://clerkenwellhouse.com and in the inimitable words of the event promoter, Neil Davenport, "Come to Church for your alternative Sunday Ssrvice!".

Other bits of activity include Onyx at Area this Friday, Juicy over at Fire this Saturday and Barcode's Soho & Vauxhall laying on a whole host of D.J's right across the weekend. Check the popular press for full details. Also, don't forget to visit http://seenqueen.com for a full lisitng of events in gAylist/land London as well as much much more!!

So that's our pick of the bunch for this time round. As for our weekend, well we will probably make an appearance at Industri tomorrow (Thurs) and may well be off to "Church Service" on Sunday. So, if you see us out, come say hi, but whatever you do have a good one!.

Weekend Recommendations - "Soho Live 09 Special"

Hey Folks,

Well, we head into Soho Live weekend and the news is out that the waether looks set fair for Sunday, so expect an event on the streets of our favourite London suburb to simply rock.

So, what is on offer apart from the day itself, the details of which, by the way, you can catch through our website & at http://seenqueen.com/features. Well, plenty actually, so here is our "extended" choice for this special weekend.

First up, launching this Saturday (12th Sept) is "Tabloid", a brand new venture by the team at Fire who are looking to re-invigorate gay clubbing in this most talked abount venue in Vauxhall. Billed as "Edition 1" the breaking news is the team have secured exclusive headliners Tall Paul & Jon Byrne, who will join Fire residents Steve Pitron, The Oli & The Sharp Boys on the main floor, with a big expose being that the Mirror Arch will feature international D.J./Producer Pagano with David Jiminez and there will be some pop injection in the form of Miss Dusty O & James Saint James in the the renamed "Poparazzi" lounge. The latest breaking news is that the team have deploid some brand spanking new lighting in the main room, some new "Tabloid" visuals and a unique "Tabloid" projection wall to add to all the usual production & the biggest exclusive press release is that D.J. Hi-Fi Sean will be playing in one of London's biggest mirroball rooms, The Lightbox. They will even have a "Tabloid" dreams cover corner" where you can get your face onto the cover of your favourite magazine (remember the lyrics?!). Doors open at 11 p.m. and the night runs through till 8 a.m. with advance £10 tickets available now at http://clubtickets.com

Next up is a brand new club launch "Scandal" which launches on Soho 09 evening, (Sun 13th Sept) at the swish Shadow Lounge. Brought to you by one of the scene's most experienced promoters, the man behind Salvation & Famous, and someone who is renowned for putting on great events. Who are we talking about?, Steve Elliot ofcourse and in a scandal ridden interview he told us that he promises a night of scandalous proportions right in the heart of the West-end with plenty to talk about. It has also been scandaleously reported that this will be THE party of the decade which will be hosted by the unscrupulous Madam Alekssandra Ceciliato and our sources also reveal that DJ’s Miswhite & Paul Coals will be creating the musical scandal with live vocalist Tonnic providing the vocal gossip at this shameful event, accompanied by the mistress of disgrace, Juliana de Primo. So its time to stop the cover up's, the false alegations and the pre-event scandal mongering and be at The Shadow Lounge when the real scandal breaks! with doors opening at 8 p.m. and the club runnning through until 3 a.m. Adavnace tickets of £7 are on sale at http://clubtickets.com with £10 tickets available on the door or if you are a Shadow Lounge member its free.

Next up is the citric megaclub that, on the back of its amazing collaboration party with the legendary Trade, swings open its doors at Fire in Vauxhall also this Sunday/Monday (13th/14th Sept) in colourful celebration of Soho Live where "orange" is definately the colour in mind. Yes, Orange squeezes in loads of action, starting two hours early with an outrageous D.J. line up, all headlined by non other than Boy George in the "Oange Squash" main room, joined by The Sharp Boys, Terry Bryan & a special b2b set by The Oli & Paul Martin. The wonder duo that is David Jiminez & Gonzalo Rivas will be in full Raw mood across in the Mirror Arch, while the introduction of "The Fat Orange Tonnic Longe", featuring, ofcourse Fat Tony on the decks & Tonnic on vocals, the duo adding another citrus styled dimension to proceedings. With doors opening at 9 p.m. and running through till 9 a.m. the team are offering free entry before midnight with an ad, flyer or sticker Then its £10 b4 1 a.m. & £12 thereafter. So to get your segment of Orange, head for Vauxhall this Sunday night.

But ofcourse we cannot complete our recommendations without including "Paparazzi", which is the OFFICIAL afterparty for Soho Live, with the full weight of Gaydar, The Edge. Evolved Events & The Wandsworth Palais (the venue for Paparazzi) behind it. You just have to check this venue out, which is simply amazing, so for a tiny sneak preview, go to http://wandsworthpalais.com. "Paparazzi" is another brand new club launch and although we hear you say Wandsworth!! it is much closer to central London (and indeed Vauxhall) than the name suggests Also, fear not at there will be free, yes free transport direct from Soho as you will be swept away from the centre of town on the buses leaving from Shaftesbury Ave and Tottenham Ct Rd from around 8pm after Soho Live closes, with the busses running till 12.30 am. As for the event itself, be prepared to be bathed in the warmth of a thousand flashes, shine like a star in a sea of cameras, and dance alongside some of the scene's hottest men as the venue will be transformed in the glamorous T’dance style but with circuit like production, massive inspiring stage shows and some of the world’s most eye-pleasing dancers & performers provided by Mark M Forn's Fierce Intl. D.J's grabbing the camera clicking action will include Paul Heron, Pier Morrocco, Brent Nicholls & Alessandro, and with a live PA performance from Lisa Millett, showcasing her latest hit "Now That You're Gone" as well as classics "Bad Habit" & "Soul Heaven", this looks like stealing the paparazzi's attention for sure. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the club runs through till 6 a.m Advance tickets are available at http://evolvedevents.co.uk at just £10 but with more on the door at £15. And, watch this space for a special "Paparazzi" stop press release, as there is loads of camera clicking activity right across the weekend.

Just one other quick mention goes to Lo-Profile, who will be holding their own "afterparty" on Sunday from 8 p.m. with Mikey D & Paul Heron on the decks. Check the popular press for full details.

Anyway, looks like being a great weekend in gAylist London and we have a busy one, with Tabloid tomorrow, work duty at Rupert Street on Sunday (interspersed with a whizz around Soho Live), Scandal & Paparazzi. So if you see us out, come say hi and as we always say....Go There! Be There!

Weekend Recommendations - 3rd to 6th September

Hey Folks,

Well, if like us you had a pretty hectic August Bank Holiday, you may be thinking about taking it a little easy this coming weekend, but as they say, "there is no rest for the wicked" and there are enough reasons to be just that, so here are our recommendations to buck the resting trend.

First up and starting the weekend early (well it is the new Friday!) is new club Bordello this Thursday night (3rd September) at The Den (formerly The End) a new polysexual night spread across two rooms. This new night is brought to you by the influences of two of the scene's biggest promotion names, Patrick Lilley and Steve Elliot who will be hosting the launch night. Spread across two rooms, the main space having a distinct Latino flavoured music direction intermixed with upbeat dance house tunes, courtesy of D.J's Alessandro, Gonzalo Rivas & Miss Mis-White, while the second room will be very much in the style of rnb but with an old skool hip hop twist delivered by the likes of Jeffrey Hinton, Big John, & Jose Luis (La Bomba) & Team Work doing their magic, added to a special VIP area hosted by Terry Lynch & Queen Shiva. Bordello runs from 11p.m. through till v late & its free entry before 1 a.m. with a flyer or wristband or £6 thereafter.

Next up is the return of Megawoof, who have moved, yes moved to a new home across Vauxhall at Hidden. With the plan to bring back a more intimate and raunchy feel, the team reckon Hidden has all the right ingredients to deliver and point them in a new direction, with three similar sized rooms of music abtly named the Red Room, where Daz Saund, Sugarbear & Tim McClone will play out uplifting & commercial house, the Black Room, where Diddy, David Eph & Megastar Pagano will serve up deep & progressive house (yum yum!) whilst the Blue Room will have a much funkier and chilled feel in the hands of Oss & Massimo. And with the benefit of a proper play room as well as a much better outside area to chill, we think, like Matinee's move to Cable, Megawoof & Hidden will become a match made in heaven. The night is labelled "Reboot" with doors opening at 10.30 p.m. and the club running through till 6 a.m. Entrance is £10 for members, £13 for guests, otherwise £14, and for details of how to become a member go to http://megawoof.com

Our last choice goes to Decandence, which swings into action for its monthly (well has had a two month summer holiday break) refined T-dance styled soiree at the posh No 5 members club on Cavendish Square in central London. This is definately a club night with a difference as dining and socialising mix neatly with dancing and who could resist with Mark Bambach & Andrew Elmore supplying the music with the added elegance of a touch of Versailles around, with beautiful boys in powdered wigs. Over in the restaurant, your host, singing sensation Rebecca Kelly, will definately get you in the mood to party and we are told there are still a limited number of tables you can book by e-mailing at thesecretsociety@live.co.uk Running from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m., the bar swings into action at 5 p.m. the restaurant at 6 p.m. & the club at 8 p.m., so you can even get up foor work the following day!! Entrance to Decadence VII is just £10 and such is the oppulence of the evning they even have overnight stays on offer.

So you see, three great reasons for you to be out and about this weekend and ofcourse other favourites Lo-Profile and Barcode's Soho & Vauxhall will be lining up some great D.J.'s, with Area's Onyx an option & especially Beyond being good choice after the meyhem of its Bank Holiday party which was rammed. Check the popular press for more details of these.

As for us, well we suspect the temptational treat of Hi-Fi Sean on the decks at Industri (at Barcode Vauxhall) this Thurs will be too much to resist, with a trip to Bordello at the den aftewards and we may well check out the new look Megawoof on Saturday which sounds like being one hell of a party. If you see us out, come say hi and as we always say....Go There! Be There!
